With the GoSkills Course Builder, you can create different types of courses depending on how you want learners to complete their training.
What types of courses can you create in GoSkills?
There are four course types to choose from:
- On-demand course: Create flexible, self-paced training that learners can access anytime.
- Live course: Schedule live online or in-person training sessions.
- Learning record: Track learning completed outside GoSkills.
- Imported course: Upload an existing course created in another authoring tool or LMS.
You can also start with a course template if you’d prefer to customize a ready-made course instead of building one from scratch.
To get started, switch to the Creator role, go to Your courses, and select Create a course.

Next, select the type of course you’d like to create from the available options.

On-demand course
An on-demand course lets you create flexible, self-paced training in GoSkills. You can build anything from a simple one-page resource or single lesson to a complete multi-lesson course with assessments and certificates.
Instead of choosing a specific course structure before you begin, you can add the components you need as you build your course.
Select Add to course to add:
- Lesson: Build a page of teaching content.
- Group: Organize related lessons together.
- Pre-course test: Assess learners before they begin.
- Final test: Check learners’ understanding before completion.
- Completion page: Show learners a message after they finish.
- Feedback form: Collect learner feedback.
- Skills: Award skills when learners complete the course.
- Certificate: Issue a certificate of completion.
Creators can also use Genie, GoSkills’ AI course creator, to speed up course development by generating course content with AI. Learn more about Genie and how it can help you create courses faster.
